We are sad to report the death of Cath Blower, a longtime member and supporter of Bolton Little Theatre. Over the years she was involved in both the Junior Group, and many other productions. She was also one of the veteran members interviewed about her memories for the North West Sound Archive’s Oral History project.
Her friend Carol Butler writes: “Cath was a teacher, actor, mentor and friend who felt passionately about family, children she had taught and theatres she had worked with. In 2004 BLT hosted a party to celebrate her 50 years with the theatre and only 3 years ago some of us were appreciative of being asked to celebrate her 80th birthday with her at her favourite restaurant in Whitefield, shortly after which she starred in a short on-line film about after the holocaust.
“The dementia which then took hold resulted in her having to move to a home near her beloved niece Jennie and on Sunday 18 June 2017 a chest infection turned to pneumonia from which she died peacefully in her sleep. There is a Cath-shaped hole in many a person’s life now but knowing her she will be looking down and saying ‘Come on, get on with it, I’m still with you in spirit!’ Sadly missed. Goodnight dear friend, sleep tight, sweet dreams.”
