Charlie Allnut is the slovenly, gin-swilling captain of a tramp steamer called the African Queen, which ships supplies to small East African villages during World War I. Rose Sayer is the spinster sister of a prim British missionary, Rev. Samuel Sayer. When the Germans invade and Sayer dies, Allnut offers to take Rose back to civilization. Their journey soon becomes a dangerous quest as they battle the jungle, a German battleship, and most of all each other.

Humphrey Bogart and Katherine Hepburn give career defining performances in this classic romantic adventure. Directed by John Huston and based on the novel by C.S. Forester.
