Mari has been diagnosed with late stage cancer and is determined to die an organised death: she is shredding bank statements and has called in the pest control man, though why a woman with weeks to live should be so anxious about identity theft and squirrels in the loft is not immediately clear. When her sister Bridie and niece Sadie arrive for a family visit, the atmosphere begins to turn rancorous when it emerges that Mari has dark secrets, shared with Bridie and Sadie, but withheld from her daughter Kath.
