by Ira Levin
Sidney Bruhl, a previously successful writer of stage thrillers, is suffering from writer’s block. When it appears that a script written by one of his students, Clifford, is sure to be a hit, Sidney jokingly refers to the idea of murdering Clifford in order to steal the play, in conversation with Myra, his wife. Or is it a joke? Is Clifford really in danger? Is Myra? Murder, deceit, apparently innocent dialogue with hidden, sinister meanings, plot reveals and unexpected twists make Deathtrap a classic thriller, which ran for years on Broadway
