In April 2017 Bolton Little Theatre will present The Earthly Paradise by Peter Whelan – a dramatic insight into the intriguing relationship between William Morris, one of the innovators of the Victorian Arts & Crafts Movement; Dante Gabriel Rossetti, the Pre-Raphaelite artist and Morris’ wife Jane Burden the model and muse of Rossetti.
Garnering themes of Victorian romantic idealism, the medieval myths and legends that inspired the Pre-Raphaelites and the controversial social mores of the time, the play uncovers the complexities of this triangular rapport to enlighten and entertain its audiences in equal measure.
